After a successful first founding Gathering in April, we held a second gathering with a similar format and updated workshops.
The invitation:
There were four participants, Jefke, Thalien, Ana and Martin. We had the first workshops by the river sharing about why we joined the gathering and our visions for living in an eco community:
A later workshop, with Simone (from the first gathering) also participating. We looked a the proposed cooperative structure and played a game imagining the roles we might each take in the ecovillage cooperative:
Several workshops were looking at the maps of the land and the possibilities for building. We looked at some basic permaculture design and the different zoning that might be part of the ecovillage design:
We looked at the options for licences we could apply for to be able to live and build on the land. Here we looked at the details of what is required for a campsite licence and did an exercise to each add other facilities and buildings that we would like to build. We then put these in order of priority for which to build first:
The final workshop, at our river beach, looking at the draft cost projections spreadsheet for the project:
Enjoying the stand-up paddle board and rope swing at the 2m deep swimming area by the river beach on the land:
Mixing clay plaster with their feet, ready to apply it to the straw walls of the common kitchen building:
